Merthyr Mini Rugby Tournament 2008

A win for Brecon Under 9s!

Scoring a total of 18 tries and conceding only 2, Brecon U9s beat Nelson (2-0), Dowlais (7-0) and the hosts, Merthyr (6-1), going on to beat Abercynon (3-1) with determination and skill that was just too much for their opposition.

This was an excellent performance form a team playing its first games of contact rugby having moved up from tag rugby this autumn. The try scorers were Callun James (6), Huw Thomas (5), Matty Roderick (2), Owen Jones (2), Finn Starkey (1) and Will Bush (1). Next Sunday's match is at home to Abergavenny and we're hoping for more of the same.
