Under 11 Finals
Brecon under 11s reach final, four seasons in a row
Brecon under 11s reached the tournament final but were beaten by a very strong, well drilled Porthcawl side.This was the fourth time Brecon had got to a final this season but on this occasion couldn't come away with the ultimate prize.
The day started well with wins against Gwernyfed (14 - 0), Abertillery (21 - 14), Lucton (35 - 7) and Dowlais (28 - 0). Next up Builth Wells in the semi final, it was a close encounter with Brecon coming out on top 14 pts - 5pts, it was a excellent game contested between two very good sides. Both teams were keen to get the ball out wide whenever possible. The home side were very relieved to hear the final whistle and move into the final to face Porthcawl.
Brecon had never had the pleasure of playing Porthcawl and from the start realised they were going to be difficult opponents. They were very strong in the tackle area and used the ball well in the backs. Brecon did not give in but were beaten by a better side on the day.
Sadly the game had to be stopped prematurely due to a injury to Thomas Richards, I am pleased to say his injury was not as serious as first thought and wish him a speedy recovery.
Both coaches were delighted with the contribution from all the players and at times they played some breath taking rugby. It was pleasing to see every player giving their all.
