Under 9 Finals
Brecon RFC Under 9 (3 tries) v Gwernyfed Under 9 (5 tries)
This year's Brecon tournament was played in a round robin format, with only 6 teams entering, and on the day, only 4 teams turning up.
The competition followed its original playing schedules, meaning plenty of time between matches to unwind and enjoy the sunshine.
Brecon's first game was against Gwernyfed who they saw off comfortably 3 tries - 0. The second game was against Builth which Brecon again won 3 tries - 0. After lunch Brecon played their final pool match against Abertillery and won 2 tries - 0.
The top two teams then met in the final, which was a repeat of last years under 8 final Brecon v Gwernyfed. Gwernyfed took an early lead and scored 2 tries. Brecon dug deep and rallyed to pull back with 3 unanswered scores. In the final moments Gwernyfed scored twice. Brecon again came back at them, and were unlucky not to be awarded two tries. On the hooter Gwernyfed finished off the game by scoring in the corner and winning 5 tries -3.
