Brecon RFC Appoints new Head Coach

Brecon RFC is delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Lewis as new Head Coach, he will take charge immediately. Most of us will already be familiar with Matthew from his playing days with us and his recent very successful role as our defence coach.

Among the strengths that Matthew will bring to bear in his new role include his many WRU coaching qualifications and depth of experience. Matthew is confident that he will be able to get the very best out of our strong squad of players.

He hopes to engender a club ethos of collaboration and cooperation at all levels.

In addition to his playing career with Brecon, Matthew has also played for Builth Wells, Ebbw Vale, Llandovery, Cardiff Blues Amateurs and captained the Welsh Amateurs.

Matthew’s coaching experience includes coaching Brecon Youth, Builth Wells First XV, Assistant cocah at Newport Dragons senior Ladies, Red Kites girls under 9’s.

We hope everyone at the club will all get behind Matthew and support him and our teams when rugby is allowed to resume.
