Youth XV Update
Now into the New Year out Youth team have started their New League and Cup campaign.
Having defeated Merthyr in the Quarter Finals of the North Blues Youth Cup they have been drawn at Home against Abercynon in the Semi Final with the match to be arranged on or near 1st February. Once a firm date has been arranged it will be posted on the website.
On Saturday we played out first league match entertaining Rumney in front of a large crowd at Parc de Pugh. In a close game played in excellent conditions we held on for an impressive victory by 7 points to 5.
Brecon Youth v Rumney Youth
The remaining league matches will be played between now and 28th March with the re-structured league providing a number of interesting fixtures. Our opponents over the next few months will be Beddau, Builth, Gwernyfed, Pontyclun, Merthyr and Cowbridge. Dates have yet to be finally confirmed.
Second XV V Rumney at Rumney
Our second team have now entered the final stages of the Conference League. On Saturday they travelled to Rumney where ground conditions were grim to say the least and suited the large home pack. (Sounds a familiar story.) The game was close throughout but we unfortunately ended up losing 18 points to 13. Although we lost we remain in third place in the league just one point behind second placed Bargoed who are our next and final opponents, away next Saturday.
