Builth take the spoils in local Derby

Saturday saw the eagerly awaited derby between Builth and Brecon in the WRU Plate pool games and it was the hosts that ran out winners by 20 points to 6.

Brecon took the lead through a Jake Newman penalty to give the visitors a 3-0 lead which he soon after added a second penalty to double the visitors lead to 6-0.  Builth finished the first half with a try which was converted on the stroke of half time taking them into the break leading 7-6.

After pressure on the Brecon line Builth were awarded a penalty try to stretch their lead to 14-6.

In the final 10 minutes of the game Builth kicked two further penalties to close out a win by 20-6.

The two sides will meet again at Parc De Pugh on the 25th September.
